Pink & Gold Bridal Shower June 24 2014, 11 Comments
My friend Caity is about to get married this summer after 6 years of dating her college sweetheart so I wanted to throw her a bridal shower that was as sweet and beautiful as her. Caity's favorite color is pink so I knew I had to have a pink themed shower. I've been obsessed with color combination pink and gold and that is the inspiration I used for the shower. Pale light pinks that contrast with glittery metallic golds.
Invitations set the tone for the event with a simplistic design using elegant lettering and a pale pink background. This design was carried through the stationery for the event including the favors, food labels, straw flags and shower game.
The table was set with metallic gold chargers, pale pink napkins and gold flatware. The centerpiece was light pink roses placed in gold and glitter mason jars that I made myself. These mason jars added glam and interest to the table and cost me under $10 to make. Click here to see how to make them yourself!
Champagne is a must-have at any bridal shower because it's time to pop the bubbly and celebrate the bride-to-be. Champagne happens to be Caity's favorite drink so I went with a bubbly bar complete with three different juices and berries. I dressed up the champagne flutes with chevron striped straws and personalized straw flags.
I served brunch with fresh fruits and muffins. I used a streamer curtain that I made as a backdrop to the table.
There must be dessert...
Whenever I'm hosting a shower I love to set up a comfortable nook for the guest of honor to open presents. Because let's be honest half of the shower is opening presents, so you want everyone to be as comfortable as possible. This lovely streamer curtain is a perfect backdrop for pictures while the bride is opening presents and can be used as a "photobooth" for the shower as well. The best part about this streamer backdrop is that it cost me under $10 to make by getting the streamer at the DollarTree.
The bride-to-me and myself. We had a great turn out and it was a lot of fun! Congrats to Caity and Alex!

Kaci's Confetti Birthday June 04 2014, 1 Comment
Hello friends, a few weeks ago my sister threw a 40th birthday party for her best friend and I got to help! Both of these ladies are event planning extraordinaires, they always think of every detail and make everything look perfectly pretty. I was thrilled when I was asked to design a few custom pieces for the party. I thought I'd share a few pictures from the event!
Mother's Day Brunch May 12 2014, 0 Comments
I hope that everyone had a fabulous Mother's Day! It turned out to be a beautiful day here in Seattle. This year I had the pleasure of hosting a Mother’s Day brunch for my Mother-in-law. I wanted it to be very special for her because let’s be honest she deserves it for raising my favorite person in the world, my husband! Also she is a great Mom to three children. So I decided to design a collection just for her and last week I was feeling super nice and shared the collection with all of you for FREE! Anyways, I wanted the collection to be feminine yet sophisticated so I went with a pink and orange color palette. At first I wasn’t sure how the pink and orange combination would look but now I absolutely love it!
It’s amazing how adding a few decorations to your tablescape can transform the space into a party! In fact my sister-in-law walked in and said “It looks like a party in here”, I did a mental high-five because my mission was accomplished!
PARTY TIP: All I had was a plain white tablecloth and I realized that my table needed more color. So I raided my huge tupperware full of wrapper paper (I know you all have one of those too) and found this adorable pink polka-dot pattern that would be perfect. That’s right a 99 cent roll of wrapping paper saved my table, it was cheap and effective!
I dressed up each place setting with my custom Mother’s Day stationery, striped paper straws and linen napkins.
The colorful banner added a festive touch to the space and hung just behind the guest of honor!
PARTY TIP: If you have limited time or budget, the fastest and cheapest way to make any occasion festive is by using paper straws and pom-poms. I’m a believer in pom-poms because they really transform a space with little effort!
Since 9AM is too early for cupcakes I used the party labels and a scalloped circle cutter to make toppers for my homemade cinnamon rolls! What is a brunch without a little treat?
Is anything more festive than champagne flutes and paper straws?

Free Mother's Day Printables May 05 2014, 0 Comments
This year I'm having my mother-in-law over for a Mother's Day brunch so I decided to develop a collection for this special day. However, I didn't feel right about keeping it all to myself so I'm posting new gorgeous files for FREE download. Included in this collection is everything you'll need to make an impression and make your Mother's Day celebration special. You'll find free downloads below for party labels, gift tags, greeting cards, food labels and a Mother's Day banner! Enjoy!
Use these adorable party labels to dress up your Mother's Day celebration. Use them as cupcake toppers, napkin ring holders or just about anything you can think of. Use a 2" circle punch or a 2" scallop punch to create these cuties.
Make Mom feel special with these beautiful gift tags, you can use them to wrap up your gift and add a personal note. You could also use these as name cards on the table. I have also included a free greeting card for Mom, the inside is blank so you can add your own touch to the card. The front reads "Thanks Mom. I turned out great.", the sarcasm is so fitting if you knew my husband!
Use the free food labels to dress up your buffet table or use as place cards! These labels are 3.5"x 5" so they can be folded in half for a tented card or cut in half to hang on apothecary jars!
No celebration is complete without a sign! Use the free download for a "Happy Mother's Day" banner. There are two flags printed on each page, to use the banner cut all the flags out, hole punch at the top right-hand corner and the top left-hand corner and string twine or ribbon through each flag. Hang the banner and you're done!
Wishing a Happy Mother's Day to everyone! Enjoy the free printables below and if you want send me pictures of your celebration to firstname.lastname@example.org. I LOVE to see how everyone uses our products!

Frogs, Snails & Puppy Dog Tails Themed Baby Shower August 07 2013, 2 Comments
The only thing better than having a baby is your sister having a baby. I had the honor to throw her a shower with her best friend Kaci. My sweet sister Tami and her wonderful husband Devin had been waiting for this pregnancy a long time! So Kaci and I knew we had to throw her an amazing shower. Kaci was generous enough to offer her backyard so we could have an outdoor brunch, is there a more perfect month for that than July? We had a very bright and sunny day! Since this is Tami's first baby and first boy we decided it would be a great opportunity to use Party Boutique's Frogs, Snails and Puppy Dog Tails baby shower kit!
Kaci's backyard was perfect for the shower! We were able to string twine from the fence to the house and hang lanterns and pom-poms for a more intimate and festive setting. We placed all the tables and chairs underneath the "lantern canopy" we created.
We placed the buffet and beverage tables outside on the patio so our guests could reach them easily. We decided to serve brunch and have "mini" foods, which included mini cinnamon rolls, mini croissants, and mini bundt cakes. We hung the custom "Baby Matthew" sign above the table and used the party labels to make cupcake toppers for our bundtinis.
We served juices and chocolate milk in plastic milk bottles with chevron striped straws. This was a great way to use the custom party favors and further incorporate our theme! Since it was a hot July morning, instead of coffee we had chilled frappuccinos complete with a festive straw!
We set the tables with everything our guests would need. We used adorable blue chevron plate settings, these allowed us to add color and pattern to the tables and make for an easy cleanup! Also on the table were color-coordinated mini hand-sanitizers with tags that read "You've touched Tami's life, now you can touch her baby". The sanitizers served as a party favor, decor and the guests could use them before they ate brunch! Also placed right on the table were the shower games, which made the transition from eating to games much easier and the guests were able to write on the tables. To finish off the table we filled mason jars with fresh blue and white hydrangeas. We had always planned to get chevron table runners but just simply ran out of time (shhh, don't tell), so we just used color-coordinating scrapbook paper to place under the flower. I think it turned out great!
As a parting favor for our guests we created a "cookie bar" which included our Momma-to-be's favorite cookie selections. Guests could select the cookies they wanted and place them in a chevron striped bag and seal them with a favor sticker to enjoy later.
We had a great time, the weather stayed cool for us and we had about 25 ladies join us for brunch. We were all just over joyed for Tami. Look at this beautiful momma, isn't she glowing?
The Frogs, Snails and Puppy Dog Tails theme is now available!
